Malvern College Hong Kong

Malvern College Hong Kong opened in August 2018 and currently has 800 pupils aged 5 years to 13 years in Years 1 to 10. The school's population will rise to 1200 places when full, with students aged 5 years to 18 years in Years 1 to 13. Malvern College Hong Kong is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme and is currently pursuing authorisation to be an IB World School. The majority of students have an international background reflecting this vibrant international city as a hub of Asia.

Malvern College Hong Kong is located near the Science Park in the New Territories, yet with easy access by both road and rail from all areas around Hong Kong.

With the added attraction of proximity to the Chinese University of Hong Kong as well as The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), the area provides an excellent cultural and academic environment for teaching and learning.

Malvern College Hong Kong places equal emphasis on the personal and academic development of the individual student, combining a strong focus on Mathematics and Science with a wide-ranging programme of co-curricular activities. The school benefits from its unique location by offering experiential learning through Forest School activities and outdoor pursuit opportunities. Assigning students to houses helps foster team spirit and enhance students’ sense of belonging, helping bring the benefits of a boarding school environment in the UK to an international day school setting in Asia.

Malvern College Hong Kong has a scholarship and bursary programme for students from socially underprivileged and ethnic minority backgrounds with outstanding academic ability or a particular talent in music, sport, art or drama, ensuring high-quality international education is accessible to students from a variety of cultural and family backgrounds.

The school is managed by Malvern College’s Asia Pacific partners, Babylon Education. The Founding Head of Malvern College Hong Kong, Dr Robin Lister, took up position in Hong Kong in September 2017. Dr Lister was previously Senior Deputy Head at Malvern College UK.

Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong

Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong opened in Kowloon September 2017 offering both full-day and half-day programmes for children aged 2-5 years. Children follow the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage framework and develop and learn through both a structured and free play programme that focuses on inquiry, developmental and hands-on learning. The Pre-School is the first Hong Kong school to operate a Forest School programme, providing unique opportunities for children to learn to think, question, problem-solve and collaborate in the outdoors. A second Pre-School campus opened in September 2018 on Hong Kong Island, currently, the two campuses have a combined total of 250 pupils.
